Raise Fish for Your Business, Community, or Family
Why Raise Your Own Fish?
Wild populations of fish are declining at historic levels and are often found to contain mercury and other contaminants. Food prices are continually rising, and the supply is unpredictable.
Fish are a healthy source of protein and omega 3 fatty acids and have an extremely low carbon footprint.
So why not take control of your food and start raising your own fish?

Plant System Upgrades
Our fish farms have a modular plumbing design that leaves the door open for a plant system connection. By adding the Plant System upgrade, a second nutrient reservoir sump allows you to connect your own plant system or one of our Growasis Raft Systems, transforming the Flourish Fish Farm into a full-production aquaponics system. Since our systems are designed to be decoupled, the plant system can be added at the time of install or at a future date.

Filtration
Our systems use a bio-clarifier bead filter which requires a much smaller foot print than multi-stage filtration systems because both mechanical and biological filtration take place in the same unit.
Mechanical Separation of Solids – Inside the bead filter, all the fish solids are captured and stored in the discharge chamber. The solids can then be drained and digested in an aerobic digester for further nutrient extraction. Nutrients can then be sent to a connected plant system or used to fertigate soil crops.
Biological Filtration – Biological media (beads) provide a tremendous amount of surface area that serve as a home for beneficial nitrifying bacteria. The bacteria convert toxic ammonia and nitrites into safe and available nitrates for plants.

Ultra Quiet Aeration
Fish, bacteria and plants require dissolved oxygen constantly. The pumps draw in ambient air from the room and distribute the air to diffusers in the fish tanks providing dissolved oxygen to all organisms in the system.
Designed to deliver high volume of airflow at low-pressure ranges, Alita Linear Air Pumps provide high efficiency, low energy consumption and perform with extremely low noise. With no sliding parts and oil-less components, air and oxygen is transferred without any contamination.
Couple, Decouple, and Mineralization
By having separate sump tanks for fish and plants, you can operate the entire system fully coupled, meaning the water is constantly shared between the fish and plant systems.
Or you can operate decoupled, meaning the fish system runs independently, and the plant system runs hydroponically with their own source of nutrients. When decoupled, you can still send water from your fish system to your plant system, but the water does not return to the fish.
Your mineralization tank uses aerobic processes to further breakdown fish solids removed from the filter into usable nutrients for the plants. This means more water conservation, less waste, and a higher overall nutrient content.

The Flourish Fish Farm Difference
Seeing is Believing
Fish Tanks – Our fish tanks come in 200 or 300 gallon volumes ideally suited for raising edible or ornamental fish. Tanks are 33″ in height so they can easily fit through a standard door way. Tanks come in a forest green color and are pre-drilled to accept the supply and return plumbing that connects to the rest of your system.
Optional Window Kits – Seeing your fish is one of the most enjoyable aspects of raising fish. Most fish are very social and will come to the window to see you especially because they know you are the person who feeds them! Windows are also a great way to observe the health of your fish and your water clarity. Our window kits come with all of the necessary stainless steel mounting hardware, a pre-drilled acrylic window and a water tight foam gasket. Watch the Installation Video on the Window Kit Product Page. Windows are not pre-installed on tanks to prevent damage during shipping.
Self Cleaning Filtration is Here!
Bead Filters use a self-automated gentle backwashing process that prevents clogging or build ups while keeping the biofilm intact. A static bed of beads both captures suspended solids and also provides a surface for the development of a healthy and effective bio filter. No moving parts, no electronics-just efficient solids removal and biofilm establishment in a system powered only by air!
AquaBundance Fish Farm & Flourish Fish Farm 600
The AST Endurance™ Filter is an advancement of AST’s patented PolyGeyser® technology with the addition of many new enhancements and increased performance features.
- Automatic pneumatic backwash enabling the filter to operate for extended periods of time without intervention, saving time and labor
- Lowest water loss filter in the industry, less than 5% of traditional filters
- Large sludge storage chamber that concentrates the sludge minimizing servicing needs
- Superior solids removal and biofiltration in one filter, delivering crystal clear water
- Elegant, simple design with no moving internal parts and no replacement media ever required, guaranteeing trouble-free operation
- Units arrive with bead media which never needs to be replaced
Flourish Fish Farm 1200
The PolyGeyser Bead Filter represents revolutionary filter technology. Its auto-pneumatic backwash mechanism separates this filter from other filters on the market. Water enters below the bed of enhanced nitrification media and travels upward through the filtration chamber where mechanical and biological filtration take place. Simultaneously, air is introduced into the charge chamber at a constant predetermined rate to achieve the desired backwash frequency.
Keeping it Clean
Optional XFLO UV Sterilizers can be added onto any of the aquaculture systems.
- UV sterilizers are positioned for post-solids filtration, meaning the water will pass through the bead filter first and then through the sterilizer before returning to the fish tanks and plant system (when coupled).
- UV sterilizers are used to kill a wide range of potentially harmful pathogens, bacteria, and viruses
- UV light is also a great way to kill algae in the water column and maintain good water clarity, especially in greenhouse environments with a lot of direct sunlight!
- UV sterilizer upgrades comes with the required plumbing components to plug and play with the aquaculture systems along with step-by-step plumbing and operations manuals.
- Mounting hardware to support and secure the UV sterilizers to your wall or floor are sourced at your local hardware store.
- It is recommended to replace the UV bulb once per year. Replacement bulbs are available through our website.
Farm to Phone!
The Hydros Monitoring and Alerting System is extremely customizable and allows for real time monitoring of critical factors such as pH, temperature, water level, flow rate, and leaks.
The Hydros controller also sends you alerts when certain water quality parameters dip outside of their safe ranges, allowing you to immediately make the proper adjustments.
The rope leak sensor notifies you immediately of any water on the floor and the flow meter can notify you in the event of a loss of water flow.
All the information is sent directly to a free app on your phone, tablet, or desktop. You can even set individual access limitations for an infinite amount of users.
Some Like it Hot
Well maybe not too hot, but warm water fish need to be maintained at the right temperature and the AquaHeat is a highly efficient way to heat your aquaponic or hydroponic system.
The Aquaheat system is designed to maintain consistent and ideal water temperatures for your fish and plants. The system can run on natural gas, propane or electric. Dual zone systems are available for independent control of both the fish and plant systems when running decoupled.
The AquaHeat is designed for larger volumes of water and fish systems larger than the Flourish Fish Farm 600.
For smaller systems, such as the AquaBundance Fish Farm and the Flourish Fish Farm 600, we utilize corrosion resistant AquaTop electric immersion heaters. Each tank is equipped with it’s own heating element and independent thermostat and controller.
Your Source Water Needs Filtration Too…
Source Water Filtration – Most systems are connected to a municipal water supply and most water supplies contain chlorine or chloramine as a disinfectant. For this reason, we recommend adding a dual stage sediment and ChloraShield filter. The ChloraShield filter removes chlorine, chloramine, lead, mercury, iron, and hydrogen sulfide from water supplies. This filter media is also bacteriostatic which prevents microbes from breeding.
Auto Top-Off – While aquaponic systems are great at conserving water, you will still lose water naturally to evaporation and transpiration (the process of water movement through a plant). Keeping your system topped off can be one of those things that’s easy to forget until it’s too late and hauling buckets of water around isn’t much fun.
The auto top off filtration system combines the KDF filter with a float valve that is mounted in a pre-drilled hole in the sump tank. Once the filter is connected to your water supply you can connect it to the float valve using simple push connect fittings that come with the filter. The float valve will allow filtered water to flow into the sump when the water level is low and will stop flow once your system is filled to the optimum level.
You Can Build a Fish Farm!
Yes, you can put together your own Flourish Fish Farm because all systems come with an illustrated easy-to-follow assembly manual. We preassemble as much of the plumbing components as possible in our warehouse. Due to shipping constraints, the majority of the system will be connected on site. Remote support is always available to assist with the system’s installation.
Startup cycling kits, water conditioners and instructions come with every system so you can get growing right away.
We also have accompanying operations manuals for both fish and plants to help you succeed at every scale or phase of your garden growing. Our team of experts is also available to answer every size question, no matter the stage or age of your system.
We Can Only Do So Much…
Each system is different in size, so some additional materials and supplies will need to be sourced locally.
The AquaBundance Fish Farm comes with everything you need to connect the system together. No additional materials are required, although we recommend installing a shelf above the water line for the air pump.
The Flourish Fish Farm 600 and 1200 include all plumbing components and premade assemblies. However, we can not ship the 10 ft lengths of PVC stick pipe required to connect the system together. Stick PVC must be purchased and picked up separately. Our team will help put together a list of local pick up items during the quoting phase to help you forecast costs.
Air pumps must be permanently positioned on a shelf that is elevated above the height of water in the system. This is to prevent a backflow of water into the pump in the event of a power outage. Shelving not included.
