A: Im from ny but have been living in fl for awhile .
I have been in sales ran a high end aquarium store for 15 years.
Q: How did you get interested in aquaponics?
A: I like fresh veggies and im tired of seeing no fresh fish from the states it’s all from other country’s.
Q: How are you currently working with aquaponics? Home setup, community greenhouse, etc.
A: home setup
Q: Tell us about your system. Geek out a bit and tell us all the specs view it.
A: So I buried a 150 gallon tank in my little green house placed a 110 gallon tub on top it’s 12″ high I did a flood and drain system. I also put a 25 gallon tub in for my floaters and to grow duck weed.
Q: What plants and fish have you had the best luck with? And the worst?
A: over the years I have had plenty of tanks fresh salt planted and reef. The worst was cleaning and water changes.
Q: What do you like most about aquaponics? Least?
A: its a complete eco system.
Q: What do you think the biggest misconception about aquaponics is?
A: have none
Q: What are your future aquaponics goals?
A: if this goes well there are no aquaponic or hydroponic stores near me in Volusia county florida.
So may be a small store or something. I had to travel 45 minutes to get to the nearest place.
Q: What do your friends say when you show them your system for the first time?
A: I got a friend and coworker doing a system to.
Q: What is your next big gear purchase going to be? What about your next small one?
A: not sure
Q: What’s the best recipe you’ve ever had/made, based around something you grew in your system?
A: I have fragmented live corals in the past.
